February 02 Greenleaf Post

Dear Friends and Family,

First, thanks to all who expressed concern about our auto accident. For those who might not know... on the way home from church about 3 weeks ago we slid off the road, over a culvert and into a canal. Fortunately nobody was killed or severly injured. According to the nice lady who lives by the intersection there are accidents there every year and quite a few fatalities (3 last year). So we are counting our blessings to come away with nothing worse than Jarom's broken nose, and 2 fractures in his Orbital Bone (eyesocket), a bunch of bumps and bruises, a number of visits to a chiropractor and a totalled van. Jarom is now ok, his surgery on his nose was last Friday and he is doing just fine.

Our house situation is moving forward. We reached a major milestone - drum roll please - we passed our framing inspection and start hanging the sheetrock tomorrow. YEAH!!! hopefully from here on out things should move more rapidly. We are approx 6 weeks behind schedule but atleast we are moving in the right direction again. We have had some great help from friends and family and thank all who have included us in prayers as well.

Jarom and I have left the women at home and are in Miami. I have some business meetings here and brought him along thanks to my ever growing account of Frequent Flyer Miles. I set a goal to take our 3 oldest on trips this year. If I'm going to have to travel so much I might as well try and find some positive perks and include the kids in the fun. Jarom was funny... we experienced a bit of turbulance and he mentioned that it was a lot like the roller coaster at Lagoon with the way it made his tummy tickle. He did well but is certainly tired. I look forward to taking Logan and Hannah on other trips later in the year.

Love to all,

Brian Packer and family.
