February 06 Greenleaf Post

Dear friends and family,
Here is the latest and greatest from the Greenleaf Packers.
Logan is now 5 foot 6 inches and that is just plain wierd! I can't believe how tall she is getting. She set a goal for herself to become more friendly and outgoing in school and I've really noticed a difference in her. It has been fun to watch her grow and become a Young Woman. Wow - we are not old enough to have a teenager (she turned 13 January 12th).
Jarom is suffering from cabin fever. Fortunately he is playing on a BasketBall team and that is helping him release some of his pent up energy. He - like his dad - isn't the best shot or ball handler but he is a great rebounder, defensive hustler and sets a great pick. He also learned how to "box out" nicely from his mother. He's having fun.
Hannah and Emma have become such great friends. Now that Logan doesn't play dolls as much as she used to Hannah and Emma are really playing a lot and really enjoy each other's company. It reminds me of Logan and Hannah from a few years ago. Hannah and Logan will start Soccer this next week.
Emma loves Kindergarten and is reading quite well. It is amazing how many words she can sound out. She and Hannah have been cooking treats with Hannah's EZ bake oven lately - it has been quite fun to try the tasty treats.
Recently Lareen's older Brother, Bryan's wife was killed in an automobile accident and Lareen and her family have really been rallying around Bryan and his 5 kids to help and support them. Lareen has gone there almost every day along with her parents and sisters and a sister-in-law. While it has been very difficult it has also been wonderful in the ways that it has drawn the family together.
One final bit of news. I'm running for Canyon County Treasurer. I was approached a couple of years ago by someone who really felt that I should run for this office. There are a number of needs that the County has that I could help with and I look forward to stepping up to the challenges. If you want to learn more visit www.2CTreasurer.com and you can read all about it. If you live in Canyon County or know someone who does - I'd sure appreciate the support!
